DT Hood Properties is a real estate investment, management, and development company headquartered in Lexington, KY. DT Hood owns 10 properties in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee, and just completed a 48-unit townhome development in Winchester, KY.
DT Hood Properties is owned and operated by Derek Hood, Taylor Hood, and Stephen “Sam” Hood. Derek holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Kentucky and has 8 years of experience running the daily operations of the real estate business. Taylor is an associate of the law firm Nelson Mullins in Huntington, WV. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Marshall University and a juris doctorate from Capital University. Taylor lends his experience to the accounting, record keeping, and legal aspects of the business. Sam is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who has over 20 years of experience in the industrial construction business. He is also a graduate of Marshall University. Sam plays a major role in the construction and development aspect of the business.
DT Hood Properties focuses on a value added and entrepreneurial approach to the real estate business. Our objective is to take raw land or existing properties and add value to them through development, or remodeling and improved management. Once the land has been developed or the existing property has been rehabilitated we seek to stabilize and maintain optimal market rents through expert management that focuses on tenant satisfaction. We seek to develop outstanding tenant relationships by addressing all of their concerns in a professional and timely manner.
For land development DT Hood Properties targets secondary markets to larger metropolitan areas that have a population of at least 150,000 citizens. For property rehabilitation projects DT Hood Properties targets areas of town that are in the process of revitalization. We seek opportunities where properties are achieving less than market rents.
DT Hood Properties is looking to expand its holdings through the development or acquisition of 100+ unit multifamily properties. Our objective is to begin this process in the near future and are considering taking on additional investors or partnering through joint ventures.
